About RehabProviders.org
Learn who publishes RehabProviders.org, why we built a national directory of substance use and mental health treatment providers from public SAMHSA data, and how to reach us.
RehabProviders.org is an independent informational guide to behavioral health providers across the United States — opioid treatment programs, detox centers, psychiatric hospitals, sober living homes, drug and alcohol rehab, and mental health treatment. Our mission is straightforward: take the public data that already exists about these services and make it simpler to locate, understand, and compare.
Who we are
We are a small editorial and engineering group that builds data tools for people seeking care, families, caregivers, researchers, journalists, and advocates. We are not a treatment provider, a placement agency, a referral service, or a government body. We do not sell care, and we do not accept payment to alter how a program is displayed in the directory.
What we publish
- Provider profiles assembled from public SAMHSA data, primarily FindTreatment.gov and the National Substance Use and Mental Health Services Survey (N-SUMHSS).
- State, county, city, and ZIP pages that give an overview of the services located in an area.
- Plain-language guides covering levels of care, medication for opioid use disorder, insurance and payment, crisis support, and privacy.
- Compliance pages, this one included, that describe our methods and their limits.
What we do not do
- We never create or publish fabricated reviews, testimonials, ratings, or credentials.
- We do not rank programs in exchange for money, and no listing is sponsored in any way that changes the underlying data.
- We do not offer medical, legal, or financial advice, and we do not provide crisis counseling.
- We do not claim any affiliation with SAMHSA, HHS, or any government agency.
How to use the site
Use the directory to shorten your list of programs worth contacting, and use the source data to prepare your questions. Because SAMHSA does not publish quality ratings, our listings do not carry scores or rankings; they describe the services, settings, and payment options reported to SAMHSA. Data may be incomplete or may trail real-world conditions. Always confirm services, availability, cost, and coverage directly with the program and, where relevant, a qualified professional.
If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911. For a suicidal, mental health, or substance use crisis in the United States, call or text 988 (Suicide & Crisis Lifeline). The SAMHSA National Helpline is 1-800-662-HELP (1-800-662-4357), a free, confidential, 24/7 treatment referral service. You can also search for services at FindTreatment.gov.
